Road to VCT

We are ready and excited to announce the next steps with our VALORANT division. The new Format is an opportunity for us to climb our way to the top with the goal to reach the VCT. With insights from Jiri “KUNDIKUNDI” Honkala, our Finnish Coach for the VALORANT team, we’ll share the details of the new team, as well as our goals in 2023 and beyond.

The team will start with the upcoming season of the Challenger DACH League, where they will meet other opponents in the region. With this league the team will have the opportunity to qualify for the Ascension tournament to create an opening for the VCT in 2024. Felix “al0rante” Brandl from Germany who has been with MOUZ since the start of the VALORANT DACH league already played with Ilari “iluri” Puranen from Finland and admires his development and being able to play with him again.

The coach explained that the team has a great atmosphere during practice hours, and they seem to be on the same page and motivated for the upcoming challenges. He knows German Nico “Obnoks” Garczarczyk and iluri from their past team and have shown good results in the European Tier 1 scene. “We have insane firepower and with this lineup we can match the best in the world. But we try to build our competitive edge by understanding the game better, no just clicking heads faster than them.”, says Jiri.

THE NEW VALORANT LINEUP

Ilari “ iluri ” Puranen – IGL

The coach describes him as a typical Scandinavian. He’s very calm and likes to be direct and discuss things with the team. He’s a natural leader who works hard and likes to be an example for the others. He has a sharp mind in identifying and solving problems during the game. “We share the same vision how the game should be played.”, says the Coach. He has experience in building a team from last year and took them to Tier 1 in Europe. Ilari says: “I am super excited to join MOUZ along with this great lineup. Our sights are set on winning DACH and in summer rising through Ascension to VCT. I’m confident that with hard work we can make it happen!”

Nico “ Obnoks ” Garczarczyk – Controller

The half German and half Polish is known for his firepower. “What people actually don’t know is how hard that guy actually works for the team”, explains Jiri. He is ready to go the extra mile for the others and does extra work outside of practice. He’s a true team player and a strong building stone for the group. Nico says: “I am very excited to play for an organization like MOUZ. I can’t wait for the next officials and play with my team and reach something impossible with the team. My goals are to win the German league and reach the Ascension and qualify for the VCT 2024.”

Felix “ al0rante ” Brandl – Sentinel

Another German who is known for his firepower – no spray, only headshots. Jiri is surprised about the way he looks at the game and his openness to learn as much as he can. He’s very hungry to win and albeit being young, he’s mature and brings good vibes for the team with his sense of humor. Felix states: “It will be a very exciting 2023 with the new signings we have at MOUZ. I‘m very confident in everyone and can‘t wait to show what we are capable of on the server.“

Murat “ murii ” Korkmaz – Flex

He has the post flexible position that he understands in all aspects, quick in making decisions and sticking to what needs to be done. “I bet that in stressful situations we can count that he delivers and doesn’t overcomplicate things”, is Jiris honest opinion about the half German and half Turkish player. Murat states: “This split will be an adventure. We don’t have much time to prepare ourselves but I’m confident the team that we will win this split. I didn’t play with German players for a year and am happy to play with some of best in Germany. It makes me happy, and I’m hyped for the upcoming season.”

Dawid “ Filu ” Czarnecki – Duelist

The Polish player is very young and in the eyes of Juri, Dawid is the mechanically best he’s ever seen. He’s funny and brings good vibes to the team. He has a bright mind with a lot of ideas which is something the Coach is happy about. “Every team needs this kind of young energy, and this guy truly embodies that.”, says Jiri. Filu states: “I’m joining MOUZ because I want to learn from my more experienced teammates and improve as a player, and of course because I want to qualify to VCT. In the off-season I’ve trialed in multiple teams, but MOUZ was the best fit out of all of them. Upcoming season will not be easy, there are strong opponents in the DACH league, but with the talent and work ethic MOUZ gathered in this roster I’m confident we’re going to smash it!”
