HeroMarine signs contract extension, attends WCS Summer Championship

Our Starcraft player Gabriel „Heromarine“ Segat is on his way to Canada, to attend the WCS tournament at Dreamhack Montreal. We are excited to announce that before Gabriel left, he renewed his contract with mousesports. It has been almost five years since Heromarine joined mousesports, so at 18-years of age the Terran player is already a mouz veteran. In his time with our team the cologne based prodigy won four ESL Meisterschaft tournaments, making him the german record champion. When not playing in big events, Gabriel has become a popular streamer on twitch. Recently, after finishing his high school degree, he decided to give Starcraft II a go as a full time pro. „Heromarine personifies everything we are looking for in a mousesports player. He is very ambitious and hard working, but also humble and loyal. When he told us that he wanted to try Starcraft full time, we were more then happy to support him. Strategy games have a long tradition in our organization and we are proud that we can continue to call Gabriel a mousesports player“, says CEO Cengiz Tüylü. The upcoming weeks will be packed with action for our Starcraft II hero. Next stop of his adventure will be the Dreamhack Montreal, where his first round matchup is scheduled for Friday 7pm CET. After returning home, the fans can meet Heromarine at the Gamescom in Cologne, before he moves on to the finals of the ESL Meisterschaft in Krefeld.

WESA officially announced, mousesports among its eight founding members

The foundation of the World Esports Association, WESA in short, has been announced as of today, with mousesports beeing one of its eight founding members. The organization is aiming to further professionalize esports by introducing elements of player representation, standardized regulations, and revenue sharing for teams. During the foundation process, WESA has incorporated eight of the world’s leading gaming brands, including mousesports, Fnatic, Natus Vincere, Virtus.pro, Team EnVyUs, Gamers2, FaZe and Ninjas in Pyjamas, alongside ESL. While these parties have contributed especially towards the foundation of WESA, the organization is looking to add more members from both Europe and North America in the future. For the first time ever in esports, WESA will institute a player- elected, operative Player Council, advocate on behalf of the pro gamers in relation to league policies, rulesets, player transfers and more.
